A Fall Day of Discovery and Fun on the Farm

From the time the children get off the bus at Bi-Water Farm & Greenhousesm, all of their senses will be used as they discover all of the authentic experiences of agricultural life.

Our goal at Bi-Water Farm & Greenhousesm is to provide a unique, educational opportunity for children to experience local agricultural production combined with a fun and enjoyable field trip.

Through the teacher’s guidance, your students will learn thematic ideas such as “seasons” and “pumpkins”. Your students will enhance basic social study skills about transportation, farming and economics. What better way for your students to learn than “hands on” while having fun that they will remember for the rest of their life.

Exceeding the Educational Standards
Look at antique farm implements and discuss how they were used compared to today’s technology (SS-EP-5.1.1)

Let the students see the crops grown at Bi-Water Farm & Greenhousesm and then show how they sell them through their farm market store and also to other businesses by using their trucks and trailers. Discuss profit, goods, buyers, sellers, reproductive resources- natural and human. (SS-EP-3.1.1, SS-EP-3.3.1, SS-04-3.3.1)

Have fun in the corn maze. Don’t get lost! Discuss with the children how important it is to cooperate and communicate with one another in order to find your way out of the maze. (PL-EP-4.2.02)

Study the different foods grown at Bi-Water Farm & Greenhousesm and discuss their nutrients which are important in growth of healthy bodies. (PL-04-1.3.01,PL-04-1.3.02, PL-EP-1.3.02)

Pick a pumpkin from the field and while there discuss the effects of agriculture on the environment (such as erosion) and identify cause and effect relationships (SC-04-2.3.2, SC-04-4.7.2)
